About MSM Pipeline Programs
Conceived by President and Dean Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice and fueled by her passion to ensure a diverse health care workforce, the Office for Educational Outreach and Health Careers (EOHC) was established in 2012. The Office for EOHC oversees and directs all pipeline programs at the institution providing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) exposure and mentoring opportunities for students from elementary through post-undergraduate levels.
The Office is committed to helping MSM’s mission to increase the number of individuals
underrepresented in medicine, the health professions, and the scientific workforce
by providing pipeline programs designed to enhance educational opportunities in STEAM
disciplines, intensify exposure to cutting edge biomedical and public health research, and
provide preparation for successful application to and matriculation in schools emphasizing
careers in the health professions.
