Morehouse School of Medicine Hosts National HIV/AIDS Strategy Update

On July 30, 2015 at Morehouse School of Medicine, the Office of National AIDS Policy, in partnership with Federal agencies and with input from communities across the country, released its updated National HIV/AIDS Strategy. The all-day event featured several senior White House Administration officials, including U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy as well as former U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher, and was available via live stream on the AIDS.gov homepage.

In 2010, President Obama launched the U.S.’s first comprehensive National HIV/AIDS Strategy. Since its release, the strategy has been used by stakeholders as a roadmap for:

- Reducing new HIV infections,
- Improving access to care and health outcomes for people living with HIV, and
- Reducing HIV-related disparities

Watch Douglas Brooks, Director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy, outline the Federal Action Plan for the updated strategy.
