Meeting Management

The Office of Extended Professional Education (OEPE) sponsors many continuing medical education meetings each year. We also work with outside groups to plan and produce meetings, with and without CME accreditation. Our office offers various levels of meeting planning services, from basic to full service. Depending upon your situation, you can contract for the services your program needs.

Accreditation

  • ensure ACCME compliance
  • apply for additional accreditations, such as nursing, psychology, physician assistant, and pharmacy

Basic Service (Credit Approval Only)- 

MSM OEPE sponsors the activity in conjunction with a MSM department wherein the department/organization takes the responsibility for coordinating all details of the activity. The OEPE ensures that the accreditation criteria are met for certification of credit for the activity. (The OEPE may audit any activity it certifies for credit, regardless of the geographic location of the activity).

Standard Services (Credit Approval and Meeting Planning Services)

MSM OEPE sponsors the activity (whether direct or joint)and is the primary party responsible for coordinating the details of the activity as well as ensures the accreditation criteria are met for certification of credit for the activity.

Meeting Planning Services

Our meeting planning service lets you concentrate on the program content and leaves all the other logistical tasks to our professional staff. You have the option of choosing some off our services a la carte or full service which includes the “Basic Service” items plus the following:

Meeting Logistics

  • contract with hotels and social venues, both local and national
  • negotiate sleeping room blocks and space requirements
  • Site selection

Speaker Recruitment and Coordination

  • faculty communication
  • audio-visual request coordination
  • travel arrangements
  • presentation coordination
  • honoraria payment
  • expense reimbursement
  • ensure speaker compliance with ACCME guidelines

Financial Management

  • budget development
  • vendor contracting
  • tuition and grant management
  • expense disbursement

Solicit Support

  • assure ACCME Commercial Support Standard complianceSyllabus Compilation
  • coordinate with speakers for materials
  • check for compliance and arrange for independent reviewers (when necessary)
  • compile syllabi (design and print)
  • coordinate abstract submission and printed compilations

Program Evaluation and Outcomes Assessment

  • analyze participant evaluations
  • provide course directors and speakers with feedback
  • conduct post-activity follow-up to track practice changes
