Morehouse School of Medicine Celebrates the American Rescue Plan
The week of March 7th, Morehouse School of Medicine will celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the passage of the American Rescue Plan (ARP). We celebrate the funding we received under the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) and its impact on students and institutions across the country.
HEERF under the American Rescue Plan
The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) and signed by President Biden was intended to help institutions of higher education prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus. It is one of the largest, single, investments ever made in institutional and student grants into many of our nation’s most under-resourced institutions educating students most acutely affected by the pandemic, including more than $2.6 billion to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
In December 2021, MSM distributed needs-based grants to students who had a FAFSA on file. Watch some of our students share their story of how these grants helped them and their family.
